INDIAN BOUNDARY PARK FIELD HOUSE RESTORATION AFTER THE FIRE
CHICAGO
The field house was heavily damaged by a mechanical-caused fire.
A large portion of the roof had collapsed, windows were shattered, interior surfaces were charred and historic details showed smoke damage.
The building was designated as a landmark by the City of Chicago in 2005 and is listed in the National Register of Historical Places; the fire was also publicly perceived as a loss for the community and restoration work was initiated immediately.
The restoration included electrical and mechanical retrofit, structural redesign, accessibility compliance and building envelope upgrade for energy efficiency.
