The raw commercial space posed three challenges: aesthetics, lighting, and acoustics.

The client’s goal was to achieve maximum comfort while communicating an impact image to visitors.

The space would have multiple functions of reception area, informal meeting and presentation room, and circulation to the formal conference rooms.

The acoustical issues of reverberation of voices and mechanical noise we resolved by enclosing the mechanical duct-work and VAV boxes and specifying a sound absorptive gypsum product.

The monolithic nature of the ceiling system is activated and vitalized by a subtle system of reveals and level changes. The internal shadows and changes in ceiling grade define the internal reception, meeting and circulation areas.
